Pellets are made by grinding up clean, dry biomass into fines and pressing them through a die. The result is a densified fuel pellet that is consistent in recipe, weight, and moisture content. Burning pellets in gasifying cookstoves achieves unparalled thermal efficiencies and low emissions.
Although biomass is typically considered a “primitive energy for the poor,” it presents an opportunity to alleviate Energy Poverty via a local resource. The technology of our Fuel+Stove System transforms raw biomass into a renewable source of cooking energy that can save lives, generate income, and save Tanzania’s dwindling forest reserves.
Ongoing revenue from Fuel Pellet sales allows us to offer fan gasifying stoves for a nominal lease fee.

It Gets Even Better: The 5watt Solar Panel
Because the stove requires a small amount of electricity to charge the battery, we provide a solar panel to our customers that live off the grid. The capacity of the panel is deliberately oversized for the needs of the stove because we will begin distributing LED lighting solutions to replace toxic kerosene lamps and candles.
