circle RURAL TANZANIANS

rural-rwandans

Rural Tanzanians typically survive on subsistence agriculture, farm less than one acre, and earn less than $1/day in cash income. Though money is scarce in these communities, they collect something valuable to Supamoto: clean, dry biomass.

Typical rural Tanzanians almost always collect their firewood and spend exorbitant amounts of time doing so; only rarely do they pay for charcoal when firewood is especially scarce. They cook with wood in open three rocks fires that emit deadly amounts of toxic smoke.

Baseline surveys indicate that Rural Tanzanians are spending 50% less-time collecting biomass for Supamoto than before. Our rural customers love paying for their Fuel Pellets in the form of less work and resources.

circle URBAN TANZANIANS

While Urban Tanzanians may be more wealthy than Rural Tanzanians, Energy Poverty still plagues the vast majority.

Urban Tanzanians cook with purchased charcoal (~$1/day), as it is an energy dense fuel that replaces collecting biomass.

Most urban households cook with several charcoal stoves that emit deadly toxic carbon monoxide and particulate matter.

Early business indicators show significant market-share in our first urban market. Our urban customers love the Fuel+Stove System’s affordability, safety, cleanliness and ease-of-use.
